  • Overview

    Manifest is on the hunt for a creatively-driven VP of Operations Management in Chicago. In this role, you’ll lead a team of agency Operations Managers, managing day-to-day operations for a portfolio of clients, and serve as Operations Management lead for the West region. You’ll also work with agency leadership to determine growth and investment across the portfolio. This role requires substantial marketing/advertising agency experience and reports to the SVP, Portfolio Consulting Lead. Think big. Notice small. Own it all.


    • Serve as a key liaison for day-to-day agency and client engagement, and take responsibility for overall agency performance (creative, financial, etc.) for each assigned client
    • Maintain complete understanding of portfolio of clients’ individual businesses and industries from a senior-level perspective, drawing parallels in an effort to drive a deeper understanding and conveying this to the internal team
    • Represent the Manifest team’s proposed solutions to the client, encouraging the client to redefine their problem or approach as needed
    • Navigate each client’s organization to understand and identify key decision-makers, and partner with the Portfolio Consulting Lead to expand Manifest’s footprint and gain access to stakeholders as appropriate.
    • Serve as an escalation point to the Portfolio Consulting Lead for internal and client concerns associated with the operation of the accounts or specific project performance
    • Facilitate organization control, design and mentorship of the Account Operations team, based on the overall direction of Portfolio Consulting.
    • Provide oversight of all process and methodology as defined by the agency, working to establish consistency and efficiency as well as clarifying process and controls for clients and prospects
    • Lead overall portfolio financial management (time reporting, billing, profitability) and revenue forecasting; work closely with Finance, Resource Management and discipline leads to flag issues proactively and drive risk mitigation and recovery plans
    • Take charge annual contract renewal and SOW generation, with a goal of a portfolio average of 3-5% in organic growth
    • Participate in major client presentations, ensuring that the team is prepared with rationale to effectively “sell” the solution
    • Ensure delivery quality matches or exceeds expectations on all projects and consult clients on decisions as needed


    • Demonstrated track record of managing cross-functional teams for high-profile clients
    • Strong leadership experience within a marketing/advertising agency, including experience scoping projects, managing budgets and financial targets, and developing talent
    • 10+ years of marketing/advertising agency experience
    • Strong knowledge of and experience in planning and managing large-scale digital programs and web development projects end-to-end
    • Experience with client management and negotiations
    • Working knowledge of major methodologies and frameworks
    • Experience with content management systems
    • Experience with transactional websites and eCommerce platforms
    • Experience with mobile app development
    • Experience with AR/VR preferred
    • Independent and autonomous in day-to-day responsibilities
    • Excellent communication and soft skills; ability to present effectively to senior clients and internal teams at all levels of seniority
    • Strong knowledge of and experience in resource management and team allocation forecasting within a marketing/advertising agency
    • Open to 50% travel
    • Consulting experience a plus
    • Bachelor’s Degree required, PMP certification a plus
